Pithy
Motivation has returned after a few reflective days to gather myself. I think that I will be withdrawing from school this semester and will continue next fall. Meanwhile there are preperations to be made to make sure I do not land in a similar position next year. On I go with my day, in hopes that this spark of energy and motivation will allow me to accomplish as much as I want to, though somehow I doubt it:

2) Wash 2-3 loads of laundry
3) Clean bathroom
4) Get mini-muses to work on picking up around the house
5) Straighten, sweep, and mop living room and hallway

Not Knowing What to Do
Today I wait to hear from my Academic advisor and my Financial Aid advisor. Last week my childcare dropped out on me. There were some misunderstandings it seems, but as it stands now I have no one to watch the children. Mr. Muse had contemplated quitting his job because it wasn't paying enough, but now without childcare expenses going out, and with the promise of a raise from his boss, he is staying. I have no idea what I can and can't do about school at the moment. The last thing I need is to flunk out because of attendance, and having missed one of my three required speeches today in addition to poor attendance, I have no hope of passing that class. If I withdraw, I will likely have to repay my financial aid, and I don't know if I can do that either. I'm going to see if I can get night classes, but it's doubtful, given the last time I looked at the course rosters, that the courses I need are offered on a night time schedule. It's frustrating. I am fine with taking this semester off and going back next fall, so that we can have our ducks in a row a bit better, but I do worry about the financial ramifications. So I wait for a call back.
It's so late in the game right now, I don't know what I will be capable of accomplishing. So on to my list for the day, so that hopefully I can be a bit productive:
1) Wash dishes
2) Take out trash
3) Sweep and mop kitchen floor
4) Pick up and dust living room
5) Sweep floor
6) Clean bathroom
7) Help pick up the mini-muses room
8) Put K-Muse on her next Phonics lesson.
9) Feed animals

It Feels a Lot Like Christmas
Or in our case Eid. Yes, my financial aid refund was finally disbursed. The water and power companies are glutted on the payments of my overdue bills, the rent will be paid today, and... well... we went shopping last night. At first the children were supposed to only be allowed to pick one extravagant toy each. You know the kind that are $15 or more that we generally have to tell them we can't afford to buy? So they did. K Bug was determined to have the board game "Operation" (wonder if this means she'll be a doctor some day?), and Pookie had her sights set on a new "My Little Pony". We thought it was a variation of Baby Pinkie Pie, whom she received from my mother for the Holidays, but this one is actually called Baby Sky Wishes. (Somehow that sounds like an incredibly Native American name to me.) Because I just know that all my readers want to hear about the various sorts of "My Little Ponies" that are out there. Son-shine, received a fancy R.C. car, and of course daddy had to have one too so that they could play with them together. *Insert eye roll.* I insisted on a cheap ($60) DVD/VCR combo machine, because I am tired of the computer being held hostage every time the mini-muses want to watch a DVD, and I am so tired of having to clean the heads of our prehistoric VCR after every single cassette that's played.
Then something happened. About the time I lit out on my own to have a look at the bedding section, Mr. Muse and the mini-muses found the section they'd set up for the after Christmas sale on toys. No one had ever better tell me that women are bad about spending money, because Mr. Muse, where he can be quite miserly at times, is terrible once he gets into the store about just tossing stuff in the cart, if he feels like we have money to throw around. I am that way a little, but I try to reign it in, especially with the knowledge of the upcoming famine we are sure to have with child care costs. But the things he found are mostly educational, and otherwise are delights that we would not otherwise be able to afford the children. They had a good Holiday, due to the gifts of family and friends, but there is something so wonderful about knowing that the smile on your child's face is because of something you worked hard to give to them. And the sales made it easy to get quantity and quality.
As far as the bedding, everything they had was nothing like what I found on-line. It was ugly and over priced, and I refuse to buy those monstrosities. I will order on-line, thank you very much. But Alhomdulilah, the things I picked up from Freecycle were marvelous! There were clothes that fit me, a Cuisinart (Black and Decker really, but you get the idea), cups, silverware, a food processor (which I will re-offer on Freecycle because I have one already), cheese graters, and a lovely set of dishes for a serving of four. There was more, but just going through that felt like Christmas too! I have so much stuff I need to get together and offer, books, clothes, and other miscellaneous stuff I'm sure other people could use.
Meanwhile I have a lot to do before getting the Mini-muses to their Dr. appointment today. So comes the inevitable part of my post, which for the last couple of days has left me disgusted, for lack of strike outs. I thumb my nose at these past lists and their taunts, and offer another gesture that is quite blatantly going to be censored from my writing.
1) Fill out paperwork for babysitter
2) Wash clothes for mini-muses
3) Feed animals
4) Clean up debris from revelries in living room
5) Unload dishwasher
6) Wash dishes
7) Sweep and mop kitchen floor
8) Bathe mini-muses and swaddle in clean clothes
9) Go to Dr.
10) Take mini-muses to A&W to console them from their shots
11) Pull out money to pay baby sitter and run it and paperwork to her
12) Run debit card back to Mr. Muse
13) Prepare clothes and set alarm clocks for tomorrow
14) Write journal entry
15) Caffeinate and feed self today
16) Write two paragraphs on Ensuing Storm
